Cosers are like models, they will show the photos taken to the public, and the audience will give them feedback. In addition, cosers have a certain appearance that needs to be met.
This study adopted snowball sampling and purposive sampling,222 valid samples were pbtained. Research instrument included "Personal Background Questionnaires", "Body Image Scale"and"Self-Identity Scale".
The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s method, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows:
1. The score of "body image" and "self-identity" are above average, which means cosplayers have more positive attitude toward their body image and self-identity.
2. Coser’s "Frenquency of cosplays in a year" shows significant difference in "body image" and "self-identity".
3. "Body image" and "self-identity" show significantly positive correlation.
4. Cosplayer's "Body image"and "length of playing cosplay" has 58% of variance to self-identity.
According to the results, it is recommended that
cosers can participate in cosplay as much as possible, and increase the frequency of participation in order to maintain positive body image and self-identity.
