The project aims to investigate how an embodied theory of concept explains the abstract concepts. The first year will focus on the debate between embodiment and representational pluralism. The project will show that the function of language is also embodied, and the sentiment is what needed to show how it lacks. The second year will focus on how conceptual metaphor explains abstract concepts. It is intended to show that not all conceptual metaphors base on mapping and sentiment consonance is the key to account for the metaphorical understanding. This in turn explains why metaphor is embodied, and thus so do abstract concepts.
