This paper was aimed to analyze the current status and future trends of the vocational and technical education in Canada. Both formal and informal education institutions that utilized to cultivate vocational and technical skills of Canadians are explored in this paper. The historical development, objectives, schooling systems, accreditation, and administration and policy were described in the first three parts of this paper. This paper concluded by discussing the characteristics and future trends of vocational and technical education in Canada. To enhance national competitiveness, it is anticipated that the vocational and technical education will be valued more in Canada, and Canadian federal government will play more important role in this area as well.
