Since the global popularity of the concept of gender equality and the globalization of economic development, women participate the political activities is increasing. So "gender" related issues gradually attention by governments and scholars. In recent years, there are many academic literature, focusing on women's entry into the board of directors on the impact of corporate performance. In this study, 661 companies in 23 categories of traditional industries in the Taiwan Economic News (TEJ) database were selected to use the data from 2010 to 2015 to assess the company's women and non-female leaders (chairman or directors) by means of data envelopment analysis (DEA) of the business performance, to provide the company leader to improve the direction of business, so that input and output resources to reach the most efficient. The empirical results show that the performance of female leaders is lower than that of non female leaders. But the female leaders in the cement, construction, food, transportation, catering, leisure travel, textile, petrochemical, plastics and other industries other efficiency values slightly higher than non-female leadership companies. From the company size, female leaders in large Companies are less efficient than small companies. Secondly, on the basis of the traditional industry scale return analysis, the whole industry or the female and non-female leader’s company, most of them are in the scale of diminishing returns. But the women led the company, the scale of the reward is still an advantage. Therefore, the traditional industries in Taiwan in the international competitive environment, the overall industry is facing the trend of decreasing returns to scale. It must still be actively changing to survive. |
