Yoga is an elegant and gentle indoor activity. It is the best choice for those females who attend to avoid direct sunlight. In addition, recommendation from famous people and stars makes it one of the most popular exercises. Beginners are usually worried that their tendons are too tight or their bones are too hard for the entry level and hesitate to start learning, especially the elderly who think that Yoga would hurt their body. This is one of the reasons that the ratio of older adults involved in this research is relatively low. A total of 349 femaleyoga participants from north Taiwan were surveyed and analyzed through confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Results reveal that all demographic variables (e.g., marriage, number of children, income, frequency and length of Yoga participation), except education level and job, reach statistical significance on leisure involvement, self-efficacy, and flow experience. Empirical results support the conceptual model. Research can help people to understand the benefits of participating in Yoga, and find a healthy exercise to stick with for them to increase their flow experiences.
