This thesis explores the theme of "clouds" and analyzes the author's oil painting concepts, techniques, and materials. It further investigates representative figures of 19th and 20th-century art movements such as Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Surrealism. The works of Courbet, Monet, Munch, and Magritte are examined to analyze the artistic techniques and aesthetic perspectives employed by these masters. The main focus of this thesis is the author's observation of the atmospheric changes and vapor variations produced by weather conditions, leading to the discovery of different cloud formations. The author applies their observations and research findings to their oil painting creations while exploring and analyzing their own artistic techniques and characteristics. The thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1, Introduction, provides an overview of the research motivation, objectives, scope, and plan, focusing on the historical and creative aspects of Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Surrealism in Western art history. Chapter 2, Art Theory and Literature Review, involves the collection of relevant materials related to "clouds," including photographs and textual and visual references. It also explores the aesthetics of Realism, Impressionism, Expressionism, and Surrealism in Western art history. Chapter 3, Techniques and Expressions, interprets the creative concepts of the artworks and analyzes and explains the primary techniques and expressive content employed in the artworks. Chapter 4, Artwork Analysis, discusses the author's creative process and the utilization of different media forms in their self-portrayal. Chapter 5, Conclusion, highlights the author's motivation for artistic creation, the mastery of various mainstream painting techniques, and the significance of their artistic output. The research outcomes of this study inspire the author to confidently confront artistic subjects and tackle future creative challenges.
