The purpose of this thesis is to collect the data of Taiwan’s and Korea’s musical industry, to analyze the strength and weaknesses of Taiwanese and Korean musical plays, and to compare the differences between Taiwan’s and Korea’s musical industry through a SWOT analysis.
The history of Korean musicals has gone through several stages including embryonic, growth, expansion, and transition to its mature stage now by imitating and learning. Industrializing the musical business, Korea has entered the full blossom stage that all types of musicals are developed equally well. Yet the history of Taiwanese musicals jumped from the embryonic directly to the blossom stage. This thesis will show the comparisons in respect of government, business, and audience and hopefully to enhance the progress of Taiwan musical industry.
