The 21st century, with its high level of technological advancement and evolution, has brought about considerable changes in the development of Western music. Many composers have tried to combine technology in their compositions, using computerized musical ideas and digitalization, so that future works have a different form of performance. For the development of electronic music fused with percussion, the author will select two pieces for this thesis. John Psathas “One Study One Summary” for Marimba, Junk Percussion and Digital Audio, and Andy Akiho “Stop Speaking” for solo snare and Digital Audio.
In this Thesis, the following chapters will present a detailed analysis of the connotation of the composer's ideas. Chapter I is the introduction. Chapter II An overview of electronic music, including the development of electronic music and the development of modern sound recording devices. Chapter III,IV An overview of the composer's life and the background of music creation, respectively, provides a detail analysis and interpretation of John Psathas “One Study One Summary” and Andy Akiho “Stop Speaking.” Chapter V summarizes the finding of this research. The above chapters explore these two works in depth and provide more detailed information for those who wish to practice them in the future.
