In the recent years, Sport Event Legacy had become an important topic to many sport organizations, also attracted to Academic interest. This study article intended to analyze the assets that sports games may bring through existing literature.
Based on the following events as examples:2008 Beijing Olympic Games, 2011 Summer Universiade, 2012 London Olympic Games, 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade. According to the results of the discussion, it was shown that general assets can also be divided into substantive or non-substantial. Hardware Construction:
for example, the construction of venues for various competitions, the promotion of sports atmosphere in the Host City, or the Urben Deveolopment due to the competition bring in to the construction of for Host City. Accumulated professional manpower or knowledge and social assets: for example, the experience and knowledge gained in the management of sports events, the achievements accumulated in interaction with International sports organizations, and connections must also be considered. Managing sports events not only emphasizes outstanding results on the sports field, but relatively important for the sustainable development of the Host City or sports organization. Take the 2017 Taipei World University Games as an example, it’s assets included the integrity of sports facilities; the transformation of the city’s image; the participation of international organization affairs; the recognition of local culture; the promotion of the development of the game industry and the promotion of citizens’ sense of glory. The conclusions of the research can be stated in three points: (1) The multi-asset of the tournament enhances the value of the tournament management. (2) The assets of the sports event need to be taken into consideration during the planning stage. (3) The implementation of the assets of the tournament depends on the performance of the organization that organizes the tournament.
At the same time, this article also proposes that future research should further analyzed how to plan and implement specific tournament assets.
