Puccini (Giacomo Puccini, 1858-1924) is better known for his operas than his art songs. This dissertation is mainly selected from the eight art songs of Puccini as examples to analyze the music and interpret and discuss the singing. This dissertation is mainly divided into four chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which explains the author’s research motivation, purpose, research scope and method. The second chapter introduces Puccini’s life and the creative background of the eight art songs. The third chapter is the musical analysis and the singing discussion of the eight art songs. The last chapter is conclusion.
