The interpretive report can be divided into five chapters: the first chapter is the introduction; the second chapter introduces the background and creative process of the author; the third chapter describes the creative concept and skills of the author’s work ; the fourth chapter, which discusses how the author applies the oriental music material in the works, explores four works; the fifth chapter is the conclusion.
The four works that included in The Sound of West and East are “Tao”, “Human”, “Opera”, “Prologue”. The author combines the melody, rhythm and playing method with the characteristics of oriental music by using the creative concept and creative skills of music to construct an oriental emotional atmosphere. Meanwhile, the author integrates the writing techniques and musical structure of occident music, which elaborates the color, sound effect and emotional atmosphere of oriental and occident music.
