For athletes, the proper arrangement of recovery and adjustment after the match to face the next major competition is an important issue in many sports. Therefore, under the requirements of intensive competitions, how to let Taekwondo players recover and adjust reasonably after a major competition, and connect to the follow-up competition or training arrangements to deal with the next major event, this question needs to discuss. Purpose: To investigate the effects of two different detraining types on Taekwondo technical performance (two-minute intermittent kick and kick) in elite Taekwondo athletes. Methods: Sixteen college division Ι Taekwondo athletes were recruited (12 males and 4 females, age: 19.88 ± 1.26 yrs, weight: 65.18 ± 11.43 kg) in this study. All subjects were needed to finish 3 exercise performance tests at three different periods (one week before the match, one week after the match, two weeks after the match). We compare the impact of detraining for one week and two weeks on performance after the match. Results: There was no significant difference in the number of kicks and the drop rate during the two-minute intermittent kicks. In terms of kick accuracy, the results of one week detraining after the match improved significantly. There was a better kick-precision at 0-30 seconds in one week detraining than two weeks detraining. There was no significant difference in the performance of athletes between one week and two weeks detraining. Conclusion: According to the results, it can be inferred that the coach can formulate a one-to-two week off plan to facilitate the athletes to adjust and recover without a significant drop in exercise performance.
