唐蕃於西元670年於青海大非川首度發生大規模戰役開始，直到822年雙方簽訂長慶舅甥和盟後，停止爭戰為止，吐蕃對李唐的侵擾長達152年。而策畫並執行此項對唐侵擾擴張政策者，就是歷任的吐蕃大論（宰相）。因此，研究吐蕃歷任的大論，對於唐代吐蕃史、唐史、唐蕃關係史以及中國中古時期歷史的發展等領域，具有重大的意義。本計畫所欲研究的對象，是為贊普墀松德贊所任命的第五位大論那曩尚結贊拉囊（sNa nam zhang rgyal tshan lha snang）。尚結贊接續恩蘭達札路恭於783年至796年擔任大論，任期長達14年，於任上去世。其親身主導了唐蕃清水會盟（783）、唐蕃首次聯軍以收復長安（784）、吐蕃平涼劫盟（787）、唐蕃首次斷交（787-803）以及吐蕃內部傾軋鬥爭等。尚結贊可謂為吐蕃賢君墀松德贊晚年最得力且最出色的大論。對於吐蕃如此一位足智多謀的大論，其作為影響吐蕃內部以及唐蕃關係的發展極為深遠。職是之故，宜對其做深入且全面的專題研究，以之作為吐蕃傑出人物立傳的根據，是為建立一系列吐蕃人物志的重要課題。
From large-scale battle first occurred in 670 A.D. in Qing-Hai Da Fei Chuan, all the way till 822 A.D. when both parties signed the gtsug lag khang mdun gyi rdo rings長慶舅甥和盟, ending the war between Tibet and T'ang dynasty. Tibet's harassment towards T'ang lasted 152 years. The one who planned the execution of harassing T'ang, is the successive Blon chen ( prime minister). Thus, researching Tibet's successive Blon chen, with T'ang period Tibetan history, T'ang history, Sino-Tibetan relations history and ancient Chinese history's development and such fields, have a significant meaning. The subject of study here in this writing, is for Khri srong lde btsan's 5th appointed Blon chen, sNa nam zhang rgyal tshan lha snang. sNa nam zhang rgyal tshan lha snang continuously to Ngan lam stag sgra klu khong from 783 till 796 took up being Blon chen, spanning 14 years. He himself lead the Tang-Tibet Qing Sui Alliance of 783, Tang-Tibet's first alliance together in retrieving Chang-An in 784, Tibet's suprising Attacking in Ping-Liang Alliance of 787, Tang-Tibet's first break-up (787-803) and Tibet's inner turmoil etc. sNa nam zhang rgyal tshan lha snang became the virtuous Tibetan emperor Khri srong lde btsan's most extraordinary blon chen during the emperor's late years. Tibet with such a resourceful and clever blon chen made Tibet's interior and Tang-Tibet relations develop deep and wide. Hence, for that reason there will be making an in-depth specialized topic of research, a biography made to glorify such an outstanding Tibetan figure and to establish a series of Tibetan figures’ biographical notes and data as an important lesson.
