摘要: | The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between health promotion behavior and self-rated health status on collegiate female students. The cluster sampling technique was applied on 48 physical education classes within 12 varied colleges in the university. Out of 1440 selected respondents, 1288 respondents were valid (89.44%). The "Health Promotion Behavior Questionnaire for Collegiate female students" and "Self-rated Health Status Scale" were conducted as data collection. The data were analyzed by the descriptive statistics and Kendall τ. The significant level of α was set at .05. The "Health Promotion Lifestyle Questionnaire for Collegiate Female Students" was conducted and it consisted of six dimensions (nutrition, emotional health, social support, health responsibility, physical activity, and stress management) to measure health-promoting lifestyles. The results confirmed that students' mood status in physical education class, sleep duration, sedentary hours and use time of electronic devices are significantly related to their self-rated health status at α=.01, and the Kendall τ as .48, .56, .19 and .33, respectively. The result of the study showed that there was a significant correlation between health promotion behavior and self-rated health status, thus it appears that health promotion behavior may probably be used as a screening tool for self-rated health status on female collegiate students. The ratio of self-rated health status among collegiate female students was relatively low, and short sleep percentage was high. At present, topics such as leisure participation, physical and mental health, leisure sports participation and exercise behavior were being discussed massively among domestic scholars, however, the topic of health promotion behavior and self-rated health status has not yet been discussed extensively. Additionally, the number of college students in Taiwan is over 1 million, thus the self-rated health status of such a large scale of schooling is worthy of attention. |
