摘要: | 英國在地理位置上,與歐陸其他國家相隔著海峽,因此擁有獨立的文化特色與發展。在近代歐洲歷史上,英國經歷了十八世紀的工業革命以及第一次世界大戰的勝利,使之後的各項產業快速發展,美術及音樂也隨之振興。英國古典音樂發展多年,也孕育出許多著名的音樂家,包括巴洛克時期的浦賽爾(Harney Purcell, 1659-1695)、韓德爾(Georg Friedrich Handel, 1685-1759),而愛德華·艾爾加(Edward Elgar, 1856-1934)則是近代英國的代表性作曲家。
本論文主題為艾爾加《E小調大提琴協奏曲作品85》分析與詮釋,這首曲子是他晚期創作的唯一一首大提琴協奏曲,本論文共分為五個章節。第一章緒論,第一節為研究動機與目的,第二節為研究方法。第二章為作曲背景及靈感,主要透過艾爾加生平介紹及個人書信了解作曲家在創作此曲的歷史背景及心境加以研究。第三章為樂曲分析。第四章為樂曲詮釋,筆者透過德克薩斯大學(The University of Texas)的安德魯教授(Andrew Stephen Luchkow)的論文“Elgar Conducting His Cello Concerto:
Audio and Documentary Evidence of Style Beyond the Score ”深入了解作曲家及演奏者關於此曲的對話;安德魯教授透過艾爾加於西元一九二八年與大提琴家皮特莉斯·哈里森(Beatrice Harrison, 1892-1925)為音樂會之排練筆記及錄音做分析及詮釋;經過閱讀及參考文獻後再與指導教授討論關於此曲的詮釋。第五章為結語,期盼透過此研究相關的演奏技巧,並在詮釋音樂內容上有更多的想法及處理方式。
The United Kingdom is geographically separated from other European countries and therefore has independent cultural characteristics and development. There are two evens in the history that United Kingdom had involved, overcoming the Industrial revolution which thrived the whole nation on economy in eighteen century and became one of the leading victorious country from World War I, and also had its stand in Europe, not to mention on music and art horizons.
The development of classical music came through decades, and brought up many celebrated musician, including Henry Purcell and Georg Friedrich Handel in Baroque period. However, Edward Elgar is the representative composer in modern age.
The theme of this thesis is “The Analysis and Interpretation of Elgar’s Cello Concerto, Op.85”, is the only cello concerto of his lifetime, this thesis is divided into five chapters. Here are the following chapters.
Chapter one, introduction: Section one: the research motivation and purpose, section two: the research method. Chapter two, background story and inspiration: We mainly research on background story and mental state during his composition through his life story and personal correspondence. Chapter three, analysis of composition. Chapter four, the interpretation, I discussed about the interpretation with the professor with reference from “Elgar conducting his cello concerto: audio and documentary evidence of style beyond the score” by Andrew Stephen Luchkow. Chapter five, the conclusion with an expectation to cultivate the musicality with specific skills when performing the concerto. |
