本研究計畫屬唐代吐蕃人物研究領域，計畫研究對象為恩蘭達札路恭，其為西元八世紀中葉時期，主導吐蕃政局與唐蕃關係的重要人物。由於其姓名、作為、事蹟等，讓筆者懷疑其出身或與粟特胡有關，而且學界對於恩蘭達札路恭的研究，仍有不足、缺陷與扭曲之處，特別是為何後代藏族史家將恩蘭達札路恭型塑成吐蕃反佛陣營中的大將，反對贊普墀松德贊弘佛政策的大奸巨惡，而唐代文獻中的恩蘭達札路恭卻是一位效忠贊普，為蕃廷迭立不世出功勞的重臣，如此巨大的反差，涉及了西藏歷史編纂的方方面面，值得探索。本計畫將依據吐蕃碑銘、敦煌古藏文卷子以及漢史料與西藏教法史料所載，以藏語文知識及史學方法，由吐蕃重要人物的研究，擴展到西藏歷史編纂。
