休閒農業近年來在國內愈來愈受到大家的重視，因為農業隨著市場的逐漸開放，使得傳統農業面臨經營上的困境，導致許多農村嚴重的人口外流、農業收入降低等社會現象外，農業生存所面臨之競爭與危機也越來越多。另一方面經濟的快速成長，促使國民所得提高，愈來愈多的人開始重視旅遊休閒，使得傳統農業逐漸轉為休閒農業，並結合生態旅遊，因此尋求適當的休閒場所為國人之期望，也是在面對在經濟自由化、國際化的衝擊，傳統農業思考農業轉型為休閒服務為經營內容，才能突破困境並永續經營。
本研究採問卷調查法，以白石森活休閒農場遊客為研究母體，依隨機比例抽樣方式，對遊客發放問卷。問卷調查結果經驗證分析、信度分析、敘述性統計，探討遊客之地方依附感、觀光衝擊知覺、發展休閒農業態度及重遊意願之關係。另外也採取深度訪談研究法，對推動白石湖休閒農業區的相關團體與政府機關、農會以及白石森活休閒農場負責人進行深度訪談，以取得更深入的研究資料。
最後依照研究結論與發現，對於地方政府、社區總體營造單位、有意願從事休閒農業相關行業之民眾及未來研究者提出參考與建議。
