Efficiency is a major goal for any company management. In the present rapidly changing business enbironment, many organizations derire to create competitive advantages through information system (IS). However, lacking an in-depth understanding of IS, many companies do not operate efficiently. In light of this observation, this case study presents important ideas for solving managerial problems through IS, both within and across organizational boundaries , and compares the differences between using and non-using IS. In addition, three propositions are provided in this paper: (1)Is facilitates the creation of interoffice purchase order operation, and makes the company more efficient; (2)Is combined with EDI and BPR makes the company more efficient in operation and more competitive in market share; (3)EDI redesigns the company's new cross-functional processes and promotes the company's operation efficiency.
