Abstract:	本文利用1976年至1995年間主計處「家庭收支調查上原始磁帶資料，探討家戶人口規模變化與所得分配間的關係。文中發現家戶人口規模分配的日益不均可視為家庭結構特徵變化的一個綜合指標。家戶人口規模分配的不均，對家戶總所得不均有正的影響，但其對家戶平均每人所得不均的影響則不顯著。文中亦指出家戶人口規模逐年趨向不均解釋了大部份家戶總所得不均度逐年上升的現象，而此一現象為社會變遷所衍生的問題，乃屬不可避免。 The relation between size differentials among households and disparities in income per household is investigated by means of the Gini- coefficient-decomposition method and regression analysis. The data for this empirical study are taken from Taiwan's Household Expenditure Surveys between 1976 and 1995. Our results confirm a positive association between total income of household and its size as well as a negative association between household income per person and size of household. In addition, intergroup variation among households of different sizes is found to be the primary factor in determining the trend of household income inequality during the past two decades. Moreover, the regression results also provide support for the notion that differentials in size of households contribute to inequality in total income of household but not to inequality in household income per person over the past two decades.
