This letter provides an indicator of home value added in foreign exports (HVAF) generated from foreign value chains, which is utilized herein with the existing measure of foreign value added in home exports (FVAH), to investigate intra-industry fragmentation in electronics exports. The HVAF/FVAH ratio is used to measure bilateral value added in exports and interdependence on intermediate inputs within the electronics industry.
