Introduction: 中國哲學的主幹是道家，一個字「道」內涵豐富，發展性強，它的深入研究可做為本系所研究上之一大重點。教學主軸自然是以讓學生有紮實的中國哲學的基本知識為主。此外，也重視西哲的方法學及西方在中國哲學研究上的新成果，用以避免固步自封而流於保守的學風，並收他山之石，可以攻錯之效。進而讓本系所的教學及研究更具有國際觀和全球性以及創新性。
