Dictogloss is a method of developing listening, speaking and writing skills through dictation. This approach is popular among supporters of ecological model of foreign language learning as well as C-test which is designed to develop skills in speaking, writing and reading. Both methods are used to create cognitive tension among students and encourage them to ask questions in order to rebuilt original text through interaction.English language learners are familiar with these methods (the importance of dictogloss and C-test in second language acquisition is emphasized by M.Swain and M.Long), but in teaching Russian both are completely ignored. This article analyses results of some of these tests taken by students of advanced level.
