The general employment situation of Russian majors in Heilongjiang provincial normal colleges in recent years indicates the notion of quality normal colleges should be promoted nationwide. We suggest that the orientation of normal colleges should be shifted, to some extent, to non-teacher training. We also suggest the enrolment of teacher- training specialty should be decreased by degrees in the hope that the graduates can meet the needs of society and that the development of Russian specialty can be ensured.
