    Abstract: 本文是作者探討傳播心理與民間文學關係系列論文中的第一篇。其第二篇名為〈從藝術、傳播要素看民間文學〉,已於「2011海峽兩岸民俗暨民間文學學術研討會」發表(桃園,南亞技術學院,2011年12月18日)。艾伯林氏《鏡與燈》中所謂藝術作品四要素之說,學界多有採擷引用;其所以影響廣遠,實由此說與傳播模式頗有類似之處,因此不只可以用來觀察藝術與文學現象,而是舉凡人間知識或一般訊息之傳遞溝通,都可以此說為解。本文並不涉及傳播問題,而是先將艾氏在《鏡與燈》和《以文行事》二書中提到的四要素說做一梳理,並及於四要素說之影響等問題。
    The object of this academic to discuss the four elements of art made by M.H.Abrams. The main chapters are as follows: 1. On what Abrams called some co-ordinates of art criticism. 2. On what Abrams called four elements of art criticism. 3. What is the Interpreted object of the four elements of art? 4. Conversion from the art to the literature. 5. Conclusion and supplement.
