Recently the 1-3 piezoelectric ceramic/polymer composite material has been widely used in medical diagnostic imagining transducer due to its superior properties such as high electromechanical coupling constant, wide selection of dielectric constant, low electrical and mechanical losses and low acoustic impedance. In this paper we are concerned with thickness vibration of 1-3 connectivity piezoelectric ceramic/polymer composite plate Equations of motion and boundary conditions for a composite plate are formed, resonance frequency equation is derived. Numerical results for the wave velocity along the ceramic rod direction and the resonance angular frequency versus ceramic volume fraction are presented for PZT5/Spurr epoxy.
