本篇論文探討低損失單模式光纖的發展,著重於結構與場的分析,進而推論出一些新的更低損失的結構,命名爲領結夾衣(Bow-Tie jacket)型單模式光纖。該結構可增加Strain Birefringence而不需高度摻雜clad。因有限原素法的應用分析發展,使非等向性濃度光纖的場強性質,得於電腦中模擬,並不需要耗資製造後再實驗,如此提供了這些新結構的各種設計有關場的分析的可行性。
The purpose of this paper is to emphasize the important aspect of the recent development of low loss single mode fibers both structure and field analysis. This led to the prediction of a new idea of so called the bow-tie jacket optical fiber which can increase the strain birefringence without highly doping the clad to further reduce loss. The new method of using finite-element technique to analyze the field properties of anisotropic concentration can be easily simulated in a general computer. As a result, the analysis of any special shape to meet the higher birefrengence property has been a difficulty to the past and now is becoming a simple task.
