This paper is to demonstrate the results of a part of a research project, CHELER, on the
community-based Chinese heritage language schools in the United States. It will focus on knowledge collection, classification and dissemination through the building of databases and an online resource hub for Chinese American communities which spread throughout the United States. The CHELER website features a directory of Chinese heritage schools (CHS), program profiles of CHSs, and commercially published Chinese materials and online Chinese resources as a way to disseminate information collected and analyzed. It will also discuss the collaboration among various sectors such as university, private sector, national and community-based non-profit organizations, research organizations, to build a hub for information sharing and knowledge community development. Future direction for the sustainability of such a resource hub will be discussed in the end.
