網際網路及其程式應用在現今人們的生活中佔有重要地位。網際網路的無限制性與自由性為社會運動人士提供更便利的管道進行宣傳與集結。中國大陸的社會運動從結構性的、非自主性的屬性逐漸轉為動員性與政治性的屬性。從資源動員理論來看,網際網路為中國大陸社會運動重要的資訊管道,中國大陸民眾近年來也透過網際網路創造更多的政治機會。本研究利用網際網路中的微博及新聞事件資料對網際網路空間進行的質性研究,發現網際網路已成為中國大陸民眾進行社會運動的一種重要動員資源。
The applications of Internet have been important in our daily life as well as political life. The Internet has shown its plural usage and unlimited possibilities as a platform to communicate and organize for social movement participants, who are eager to search any new resource to balance Government’s media control. From the point of resource mobilization theory, internet could be an important resource too, in the arena of ever-growing social movements in Mainland China. This study proves that protesters in China have been using derivatives of Internet such as micro-blog and news forwarding by email created more political opportunities to win-over the goal of the protesting. Case study has been conducted as a qualitative method to show the process how the protesters in China communicate each other.
