In this paper we use TEOS (Tetraethyl orthosilicate) to prepare modified silica nanoparticle with Q-guard (Octadecy trimethoxysilane trimethylammonium chloride) by a sol-gel process under acidic environment. Various compositions of Chitosan/silica nanocomposites were prepared to investigate thermal properties and optical properties.
