The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of SO(4)(2-) ions on the pitting potential (E(pit)) and critical pitting temperature (CPT) of high-entropy alloy Co(1.5)CrFeNi(1.5)Ti(0.5)Mo(0.1) in chloride solutions. The results indicate that the values of CPT for the alloy in 0.1, 0.5, and 1 mol/L NaCl are 70, 60 and 60 degrees C, respectively; the values of Epic are linear with the logarithm of chloride concentrations at 70 and 80 degrees C: and the addition of SO(4)(2-) ions to chloride solutions has a positive effect on both F(pit) and CPT as the ratio of SO(4)(2-)/Cl(-) is higher than 0.5.
