Heritage is an indispensible factor in aboriginal tourism. The need to attain authenticity has become one of the factors motivating tourists travel to heritage sites. To date, the research exploring the perceived authenticity of Stonehenge in Asian context is relatively scant. This research aims to use the Mixed Method to cross-validate data so as to explore tourists’ perceptions of authenticity of aboriginal Stonehenge in the East Coast of Taiwan by adopting both qualitative and quantitative approach in which in-depth interviews and survey will be conducted in this case. By doing so, tourists’ perceptions of authenticity, motivations, and travel experiences on heritage Stonehenge could be investigated. Furthermore, the differences of demographic variables of tourists on the aforementioned constructs will also discussed. The theoretical significance of this research is expected to contribute to the broader understanding of cultural tourists and how their perceptions of authenticity motivate them to visit aboriginal heritage sites in Taiwan, and shape their on-site experiences when they do so. With respect to management implication, the findings of this research could provide references relevant to the sustainable conservation and revitalization of aboriginal heritage sites and to their future interpretation by educators.
