    Abstract: 阿茲海默氏症(Alzheimer's disease, AD)是大於65歲病患最常見的失智症。常見的症狀包含了記憶的減退或喪失，判斷及執行能力下降，失去從事日常生活活動及照顧自己的能力，行為障礙以及情緒人格的改變；最後終至依賴旁人照護並隨著病程進行逐漸增加病患及照顧者的困擾和壓力。國內老年失智症的粗略統計約為八萬名，其中約六成為阿茲海默氏症，也就是說國內約有四萬名至五萬名病患，所以，失智症已是老人國度的台灣主要的醫療及社會問題。
