Introduction: 英文系首任系主任梁實秋先生，為國內外英語教學之前輩。歷屆主任有: 梁實秋、李迪俊、王漢中、鄺耀坤、邢光祖、溫源寧、曹文彥、王士儀、閻振瀛、陳永昭及劉慶剛等教授，諸位主任任內積極進行課程改革，設立系務、課程、及教師評審等委員會，出版英文期刊及系訊等。民國57年10月設立西洋文學研究所(碩士班)英國文學組。民國88年更名為英國語文學研究所。
